Opening Day LuvRaptor style
Off to CP again at 5:30am, youngest daughter, niece and b/f in tow. Thanks to NO traffic on I-23 or anywhere else for that matter got to Sandusky at 7:50. We stopped and ate then off to CP. Hooper met up with us at front gate, once ribbon cut off to Raptor we went. NO Raptor. I knew there was something up when the trains werent even transfered. We left highly disappointed and headed over to Maggie. My kid and niece wanted to ride PT (NOT me!) so b/f was a sweetheart and told me to go ride with my GTTP family and he'd catch up later with kids. Off to Maggie Hooper and I went. I had the pleasure of meeting Janelle and Ann, a true blast to hang out with especially Ann (and she knows why :)-SO much in common!) We hit up Maggie a few times, MS (smoother? yea whatever) we did get to see Hothitz there and he just looks all too happy to be working @ CP. Off to CCMR (Natalie was great-I know we made her day) to MF we went. I will admit hangin in line with the GTTP'ers is too fun. After my 91st ride on MF, we set up our own campground in the Challenge parking lot, thanks again JS-it was awesome, next time Hooper watch the table cloth!
Then it was off to Raptor-----no-a tease-Raptor down (again, still, who knows) Caught up with kids and b/f, kids went own way, I went with b/f.
Completely forgot about 5pm meet time-my bad!
We rode BS, DT, then FINALLY got to ride MY fav bird of prey. Yup-seat 8-1, yup got tons o'hugs from the crew I knew, all asking if I was coming back again this Fall. Then it was off to MF.
Wait THIS time only 1.25. I sat with b/f and he was white as a sheet. Niece and daughter in front of us, niece crying..uh oh. Did my b/f scream like a girl? No..instead he cursed like a sailor-
when I was leaning out he said "you are out of your &^%$# mind" I rolled-it was TOO funny!! When we got off niece was smiling and said "I will never ride this thing again" My b/f said "ya know once you get over the 1st hill it isnt bad" :)
THOSE memories I will remember a long time!!
I was hoping to meet up with my GTTP family again for that last MF ride, I was disappointed I didnt get to say bye to them. (Sorry guys! :() Even with only getting 1 Raptor "fix" I had a blast seeing all my friends, my fellow ride ops, my PR hero, meeting a bunch of new people, (ucsigep for 1) seeing people tap the person they were with and saying "hey-thats the Raptor person that was in the paper yesterday!!" :) And definitely hangin with my closest of CP buds who I adore like family, Dan, (front page?) Jeff, and Hooper.
