Bringing Children to the Point?

At which age do most of you parents recommend bringing your child(ren) and what have been your experiences?

I've been taking my kids since birth. I have 4 now ranging from 5yrs to 8 weeks. at about 18mons. they can start to ride most of the kiddie circular rides.

If your looking to go and ride the coasters, don't take them unless they are atleast 48" tall. If your there for the family there is plenty to do and the park really caters to you. Get ahold of a vacation guide if you can or atleast study the online site to see what all the park give to families.

The worst part is the in park food prices. A meal for my family in the joe cool cafe(kids resturant) cost me just under 70.00 without the tip.

Are you serious about the $70? 4 kids and 2 adults? I guess that can add up pretty quick. Did Snoopy feed the children at least?

That's quite a bummer about the outrageous pricing. I had really high hopes for this place.

the place itself is great, the atmosphere and such are top notch. The kids meals came with lunch boxes that they get to keep. For the money they should have snoopy walking around.

I took my newborn and 2 year old last year and they had a great time (ok, the newborn just slept, but the 2 year old had fun). Aside from the children's rides, they had a great time on the rail road, the paddle wheel excursion, antique cars and the sky ride. This year I think my now 3 year old will like the ice skating show.

There is plenty to do with young children, especially if you're moving at their (slow) pace and take lots of breaks to let them just have fun. I think this year we'll spend an hour or two on the beach as well.

I went to Disney World when I was 4 years old. I barely remember riding splash mountain and space mountain. I would think that waiting until they're old enough to really remember it would be the best time. Otherwise, get a babysitter and enjoy the rollercoasters.

^ You can still enjoy the coasters with the parent swap though.

And my 3 and 5 year old both remember CP. We go about 5 or 6 times a summer and I'm sure that helps with that, but we've only gone to MIA 2 times and they remember that also.

Long term memories are for me and my wife, and thats all worth it too.

We have also taken our children since they have been babies. My husband and I told ourselves just because we had children it did not mean we could not do what we still enjoy, and there is no reason we can't include our kids in on that as well. My now 3 year old remembers everything about CP, and this year my 18 month old is able to ride most of the rides in Kiddie Kingdom. We are still able to get them on the rides they enjoy and also ride the coaster we enjoy with the parent swap, or we bring somone else with us that wait in line with one of us.

And I totally agree about the memories for the parents, we have made some that will last a lifetime at Cedar Point with our kids. To watch our kids' faces light up on the rides is truley amazing!

Thinking about taking my 5 year old for his first point trip. I am just hoping he loves the park as much as I do. I have been grooming him with No Limits. I load a CP coaster, sit him down and lean the chair with the ride motion. Got to start them early. I already told the wife if he loves it, I will allow him to skip school 1 day every May and take him there. Always wanted my pop to do that but he laughed when I suggested it.
