New CedarPoint.com Layout

I just visited the official CP site and apparently they redesigned it. It looks a bit generic to me, I sort of preferred the old layout. Oh well, times change. Discuss.

Re: New CedarPoint.com Layout

The site is going really sloooooow for me right now. I really miss the flash animation of the park at the top. It was cool to see all the rides going even when you weren't there.

Re: New CedarPoint.com Layout

The site is also going really slow for me. And I also am going to miss the old layout. This new one seems to be too bright/white. I've always been a fan of lots of color. Maybe there is more color to come, and Hopefully they will add the animation of the rides.

The pictures are amazing, but its missing the animated lettering when entering the page.

It is still better then any other official park webpage that I have ever seen.

Re: New CedarPoint.com Layout

I dont like the generic layout of the page, but i dont work for them so my opinion does not count.

Re: New CedarPoint.com Layout

I'm going to jump in with an alternate view. I love it.

It's clean, crisp, neat and it really appeals to my personal tastes. It's moving a tad on the slow side right now, but I'm sure once the bugs are worked out it will be fine.

I'm sure they put a lot of long hours into that design. ;-)

Re: New CedarPoint.com Layout

I love the pictures on the top of the pages as well, they're alot better quality than the previous ones. I really liked how the previous site felt unique, this one is starting to resemble some of the other CF sites. I guess I just love the fact that CP is so amazing, I just hate for it to be presented as part of a chain. I'm probably going overboard, but oh well.

Re: New CedarPoint.com Layout

I'm surprised that nobody has mentioned that along with the new layout the webcams are refreshing at 30 seconds instead of 60. I like the new layout myself.

Re: New CedarPoint.com Layout

Very slow. I have noticed as of late, even with the old site that it was slow. Reservations is extremely slow. I do like the layout. Bright and fun looking. Looks like they switched web publishing software or something.

Here's a fun fact, these are the people who designed the CP site:

Re: New CedarPoint.com Layout

First few times I went to it all it said was "Bad Request (invalid hostname)". Now the homepage loads but the links don't work I'm sure it'll work its way out...reminds me of a certain Mozilla site earlier this afternoon.

Re: New CedarPoint.com Layout

What, don't tell me Intamin designed the new web site too?

No wonder it didn't launch properly.

Re: New CedarPoint.com Layout

I like it ,don't get me wrong the old one was nice, but this one is fun to. I love the pictures at the top of every page, so I just went and clicked most of the rides just to see what's at the top. Love the webcam refreshes 30 seconds.

Re: New CedarPoint.com Layout

I already expressed this to them, but it seems odd to launch a site during business hours. Especially when the kids are out of school.

People will always bitch and moan when a site changes, and for the most part I could care less when it's one of my own. I like the new navigation because it's very task oriented. I've always felt that there were too many options on the site. Now there are fewer, but just as many, if that makes sense. I haven't really looked around beyond the home page.
