Pushy Sales People near Magnum

Did anyone else get caught by those people near Magnum who were selling resort and vacation packages for $49? I can't remember the name of the company, I think it was Green ?? something, but anyway I tried to walk away from them twice and they kept talking to me and trying to sell me stuff. I am surprised that Cedar fair would want another company selling resort packages on their property. Isn't CF competing for vacation $$$ ?? Anyway, I think they should be careful about allowing that to go on because guests don't wanna be stopped and pressured by sales people when they are in the park.

I have been noticing this happen in alot of major theme parks, a shame, they alrady make enough off of us so back off

I agree, sales people should not be bothering people at a amusement

park. I always find myself walking another way to avoid these people.

Maybe the parks will install a phone booth, and the customer can go

there and wait for a telemarketing call. If you go to kings island,

the same people are over near the beast rollercoaster.

I have already experienced these people at King's Dominion, SFGA, and Dorney. It is crazy that these corporation would let these people in the park. Are the ones at CP selling you time at one of the CP resorts? If not aren't they taking away from themselves? Sort of llike "Why stay here at Breakers for $140 a night when you could instead get a timeshare in Orlando for $39 a night?" I don't get it. I just walk right by the people likeI don't see them.

I recognized this last year, by TTD midway. A company named Rural Investements something or other were selling Breakers Express packages, in which I thought was weird.. and probably a mischevous scam of some sort. But I thought CP was having problems with vacation selling?

I guess there are 2 reasons why this annoyed me. The first being that I told the people twice I wasn't interested and as I turned to walk away both times they followed me a little and continued their sales pitch. They were also asking me personal questions about where I like to go on vacation and how much vacation time I get at work. Secondly, I would really like for someone to explain how Cedar Fair benefits by having these people sell vacation time to non-Cedar Fair properties. If they had been advertising other Cedar Fair parks and properties I would totally understand, but that was not the case. Ok, I'm done complaining.

They are very annoying. So are the Kodak people at the front of the park. They are both very pushy.

I actually asked them if they were selling Timeshares for Breakers (basically knowing they weren't). And yes, they were WAY TOO PUSHY! At least at that point, I went to them to bug them about it.

What makes me really unhappy is they are between the entrance and exit to my favorite ride at the park!

If I EVER buy a time share, the only one I would be even remotely interested in is Disney.

I am very good at annoying people, so if anyone here has a problem with these people this year, let me know, along with the name of the person who was being too pushy, and I'll be happy to annoy them back for annoying you!

These people are even more despised than telemarketers as far as I'm concerned, and if anyone at Cedar Fair has a shred of decency, they'll boot them out before another day of operation.

I don't like these people. Not really for the fact that they are trying to sell it to you, but because they don't seem to understand the word "No". We went to Disney a few years back and sat through the whole time share thing to get our deal. But at the end when we said no thanks they were not very polite at all. I understand that it is misleading if we do that, but I do not think it is very professional for them to respond rudely to us.

Then in their parks we got stopped a couple of times too. After a while we would just end up saying "No" and walking away, or ignoring them completely. It may not sound polite, but they are not being polite at all by being pushy.

sounds like there are enough complaints here, why can't we let CP know our thoughts and email CP that we don't like this. If CP doesn't get any complaints directly to them, they won't do anything about it. So email CP!!

I'm confident that CP wouldn't allow these people in unless they were getting a significant amount of money out of the deal.

I DESPISE timeshare sales and I think it is a poor reflection on Cedar Point/Fair for allowing them in the park. While Disney does push THEIR OWN timeshares...they don't literally "push" them. The only time I've ever talked with one of their reps is when I approached them. Otherwise they stand in their kiosks and watch the crowd walk by.

To me this stinks of "anything for a buck". I understand they are a business but this is over reaching.

Just bring some brochures for your own company/product. Instead of letting them deliver their spiel, give your own...and make it louder than theirs.

I get taken in by them coming back from challenge park. I filled out the paper to win something (probably a mistake). He would not let it go. I told him no like 6 times and he still pushed while i filled out the paper. I only filled it out to entertain him, but sheesh.

The best course of action? Just turn your back and walk away. They aren't going to chase you too far down the midway.

I don't know about anyone else, but if I'm in an amusement park to relax, the last thing I need is some a-hole putting the hard sell on me.

I think it just reinforces the idea that CP has turned into the money-grubbing corporate entity that everyone said they were turning into. Nothing appears to be beneath them any longer when it comes to making a buck.

It's really kind of sad, especially living in Sandusky and having been a visitor since 1976. I'm almost embarrassed to be from Sandusky anymore - well, more embarrassed than usual.
