Is it just me, or does Dick Kinzel look like a statue in this photo?

No. That's just the senility finally setting in.

How did Lauren Holly tie into it all? Does she own the dog?

^ - Jeff Daniels drove a dog shaped truck once in a movie she was in.

That's about as close as I can get.

Re: Cedar Point opens for 2008 season

Yeah, I have no idea why Lauren Holly was included. I think in some of the pre-opening day materials she said she was a dog lover or something...

1. Moderately popular celebrity
2. Dog Lover
3. ??????
4. Profit!!

And its not like she's been unemployed. She's had a few movies over the last year or two AND been on NCIS. So its not like she's desperate for work.

I'm still scratching my head on that too. Don't get me wrong, I like her and all, I just don't quite get how someone called her agent to open an amusement park attraction.

Re: Cedar Point opens for 2008 season

I looked up her bio and she was raised in Geneva, New York, which is close enough to CP that she could have been at the park many times as a kid. Maybe that is the connection, popular celebrity that also has a soft spot for CP.

I don't know if I would call that "close".

Re: Cedar Point opens for 2008 season

Geneva NY is about 5 hrs or 350 mi. from CP. Close enough to visit the park for a few days. Not a day trip, but certainly practical if staying at a hotel.

Re: Cedar Point opens for 2008 season

I thought there was something a while back where she said she was a big fan of the park. Unless I'm thinking of someone else.

Re: Cedar Point opens for 2008 season

I guess so. It seems there's enough other parks up in the North East, that CP wouldn't have even factored into it, especially since this would be BEFORE it became the coaster capital. Heck, I don't even think she's been mentioned in the occasional "Who have you seen...." threads that pop up on here. I'd think if it was a childhood place she'd have come back before now.
