Old Millennium Force Promo Video

Hey everybody, I found a promo video for millennium force at my local library and was wondering if anyone knew anything about it. Were they sent out when it was announced? If anyone knows anything about it please post it here. Thanks.

Re: Old Millennium Force Promo Video

Is it an old commercial with an old guy and people saying "what the future has to bring" (kind of like weird "Y2K theories")?

I know that, the Raptor and Mantis promo's had all been hosted on GTTP way back when. Maybe Jeff still has them lying around and could host them again.

Re: Old Millennium Force Promo Video

I remember on the old cp website they had a millennium force commercial to download. Does anyone know if this was the same thing? Is there anyway to download this any more?

Re: Old Millennium Force Promo Video

You can download the Dragster Promo off the Cp site. I think its under the POV on its own seperate site.

Re: Old Millennium Force Promo Video

Man just watching that promo brought back a lot of memories. I remember being in High School my Sophmore year and that was one video I would watch because I was so excited because this would be one coaster I would never forget. I also kept my eye on the webcam everyday just to see the progress of how tall the new coaster was growing. In my mind thats when I started becoming more an enthusiast. Today Millennium Force Is still my favorite RollerCoaster.

Do these promos get shown anywhere else other than the internet? I'm wondering what the whole point in making them are.

Re: Old Millennium Force Promo Video

^I know. It seems like it would be to long to be a commercial on TV. Maybe they sent them to news stations and had them play it.

Re: Old Millennium Force Promo Video

Back before you could view video on the Internet, there was this thing called TV. It was a box that received electronic signals over radio waves from things called television stations. These stations showed news, which is stories about things going on.

Ah, those were the days.

I don't remember about MF promo, but Raptor and Mantis promos were shown with previews at local theaters in the tri-state region

Re: Old Millennium Force Promo Video

Oh yeah, I remember that TV thing.

Seriously though, I don't remember any news story on TV ever using the promo video. Most use concept art, animations, live footage, or interviews to explain the ride.

While I really enjoyed all of the promos CP made for Maverick (the prospector and gunfighter scenes), I understand why they put so much effort into it. Maybe I'm underestimating the amount of people who visit CP's web site, but everyone I know learns about a new ride through me, TV, or brochures.
