Re: Taking the plunge for a good cause

If someone wants to plunge as an individual or as part of a PointBuzz team, let me know. It looks like there's a way to set it up online and we'll offer a way for everyone to donate.

Re: Taking the plunge for a good cause

I'd rather not upstage everyone with my six-pack, so I think I'll just donate to the cause.

Re: Taking the plunge for a good cause

^ well, women tend to flock all over me when they see my six-pack, and I want this event to be about the kids.

But, I have set aside 25 dollars for when Walt and Jeff lets us know to how donate.

Re: Taking the plunge for a good cause

Is PointBuzz going to be a team for this or are we going as individuals?

Re: Taking the plunge for a good cause

Since it's only a few weeks away, I think anyone who's interested should just do it on their own. Once you have yourself signed up, you should be able to obtain a donation link that you can post here.

Re: Taking the plunge for a good cause

Kintera, who processes the transactions on that site, is certified and able to secure transactions but for some reason when you go to the page to enter credit card information it's not a secure site.

I wrote them and asked why they aren't using security to process these transactions but haven't received a response yet.

Actually, after further investigation, Coastermani's link is secure as well as his page to enter credit card info. Was there somewhere to select to make the page secure when you set it up? You can just add an "s" to the end of "http" and make it secure even though the security name and the site name don't exactly match I highly doubt some company is stealing credit card numbers from a charity. If they were they should be sent down for some waterboarding.

Re: Taking the plunge for a good cause

There was not a place to select to make the site secure. I
just set it up and donated off of my credit card. I'm sure
you can just add an "s" after the http, but I'd agree with
Loopy, if someone was stealing from a charity, that is
pretty low!

Anyone attend this today? It was my first year and it was really, really cold, but still fun. I'll be there next year!
