I know this is probably stupid but, I was just wondering if anyone knew that if it was illegal to bring alcohol with you on point. I have been thru the hotel hallways and always see empty cases of beer by the trash cans.
I personally brought 2 cases with me for a week vacation because i really didnt feel like spending 5 bucks a beer at fridays. I loaded a backpack with some cans at breakers, filled my stainless steel coffee mug with it and walked down the boardwalk towards SS. I walked all over the place at night drinking making stops at garbage cans and bathrooms in Soak city to refill. Is what i did illegal.

Bringing alcohol into either park (SS or CP) is against the law:

You must be 21 years of age to purchase, possess or consume alcoholic beverages at Cedar Point. A valid* I.D. is required. (*There are only two valid forms of identification acceptable for the purchase of alcohol - a state driver's license with photo or a state I.D. with photo.) The Ohio Revised Code prohibits bringing beer, wine or intoxicating liquor on Cedar Point property or leaving the park with alcohol purchased here. Alcoholic beverages are not permitted in ride lines.

ah well had fun doin it anyway. But i was not inside SS it was the parameter and around camper village. Surprisingly no cp police stopped us and asked any questions.

Well, since Cedar Point SELLS six packs in the camp store I doubt the cops would think anything of it. And if you keep it out at the resorts (rather than in one of the parks) I doubt they will do anything, especially if you bring only a case with you.

Try having a keg delivered to your cabin, and you'll probably get a different story from CPPD.

Bringing alcohol to the hotels/cabins is one thing, bringing it into the park is a totally different story. Nobody is going to stop you from bringing it into your hotel if you're of age. You could be arrested for bringing it into the park.

Yeah it is no problem as long as you are of age. They don't like it either when you bring it into the hot tub with you. I have been known to take it in the park with me too, you can fit a nice premixed dr. pepper in your cargo pockets, and you wont have any problems, just looks like your drinks a beverage from the vending machine.

I'm pretty sure he means not in the park, but on property. So what he did is not illegal.

Although he should ask that one guy that booted from the board.. Thinking about beer is illegal.

Hahaha, forgot to mention this. On one of the Saturday nights in Halloweekends I saw a teenage boy and girl pull out a water bottle full of "clear liquid", each take swigs, then chase it was a bottle of Pepsi from the vending machines. 10 minutes later they were falling and laughing all over the place...funny sight. I wonder what it would be like to ride a roller coaster drunk?

Its against Ohio Liquor Law (and CPs liquor license) for you to bring alcohol onto CP property. it all has to do with the type of license they have. Technically you cant even bring alcohol into your room, it must be purchased onsite (similar to a golf course or an arena)

And being outside with any type of opened container of alcohol, even resealed, it considered an open container in Ohio (with exception of certain liquor permits)

I am almost certain we carried our own beer into GL back in the early 80's. I remember standing in line for the log ride with beer in hand not purchased from the park. I know this has nothing to do with CP and their rules. Things were pretty wild there then, but we had a lot of fun!

As for CP, I always have beer at my room or in CV. I have purchased 12-packs at the camp store, including closing weekend. I don't know about the legal issues of walking around in "public" outside the park, but I'm sure you are fine in your room or camp site. Otherwise, I'm an outlaw too. Though, I have made many strolls out to the pier at lighthouse point with beer in hand.

Also, the last time I stayed at Breakers Express, they allowed people to carry their beer out to the hot tub, provided it was in a can or a plastic cup, and not in a glass bottle. I don't know how against the law that is, being that it is on their property, but what do I know?

The reason for the backpack was because there were 2 of us. The walk we took was just a lazy stroll that took us an hour or so.
