Ya ,its got all the high tech toys, technology, and gizmos that a coaster should have .But its a little Boring? Not very smooth .Quick on the turns and tunnels . Shoots you out into the sky. But was it really worth taking down WWL for another so average thrill ride? What do you think? Is it a thrill or a pill?

Average????? That things a beast! Just because its small doesnt mean its not a thrill. If it bangs your head you dont know how to ride it. I have never banged my head on the restraint.

I think its the best coaster at CP. I think it was worth taking down WWL. I didnt ride it anyways.

Maverick is a great addition to the park and I am glad it is there. There isn't another ride like it at the park.

I think it was an awesome investment and it packs a great punch! Maverick is one of the coasters I have to hit everytime I am at the park.

Maverick is a headbanger, but nevertheless, a great coaster. I do miss WWL, but I would much rather have Mav there.

I can't think of one thing about Maverick that is boring. It is an awesome ride. At first I was upset that White Water Landing was being taken out, but I must admit Maverick was a great thrill and I didn't even think about White Water Landing not being there.

Maverick is an incredible coaster and certainly fits into my top 5. It lacks the height I love in a coaster, but other than that I think its perfect (and the lack of height makes it different). Does the park need another log ride? Definitely. But for now, I'm glad we have Maverick.

While I was highly disappointed that White Water Landing was going away in 2005, your first ride on Maverick makes all the disappointment go away.

I can't say enough about how great Maverick is. I personally love the ride from beginning to end. I'm not sure on what roughness the ride has other than the vibrations. Those are all caused from the wheels being used and the twisted track layout. I'm guessing that will be figured out as time goes on. I can tell you my favorite part of every coaster at CP, minus Maverick. It's just way to hard to choose.

Maybe I give the ride to much credit, I have been known to overly tout Top Thrill Dragster; but I was completely blown away when I rode the ride the first time. After riding it around 50 times, I still seem to find new things to love about it.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion (as long it is logical), but I obviously love this ride.

No, I know what the twisted horshoe roll is. (2 corkscrews in a U shape) But I was talking about the stengle dives. I found out what they were called.

i agree the maverick is an ok coaster i rode this year and it didn't impress me at all it dont have the feeling when u get off to go back in line and ride it again like millenium force

Maverick is soo much more than an "okay" ride. Its one of my favorites and if you ask everyone on this site I would bet that almost all would have liked Maverick. You are entitled to your opinion, but unless you like getting bashed by the whole website I would stick to saying good things about Maverick.

Have you ever even rode Maverick "Aint Coasterin"? When I first watched the pov video of Maverick I can say it didnt look all that impressive. Once actually on the ride, it blew me away. Maverick is one of the top 3 coasters at Cedar Point in my opinion and is a very welcome addition. I (like so many others) really did hate to see WWL go, but Maverick is a very welcome addition to the parks coaster lineup. Management knew what they were doing.

I personally wonder if this post was made just to get us all in an uproar. It doesnt take much digging through the postings to see how we all feel about Maverick.

Of course. Being #2 with those rides surrounding it means something. Maverick is a fantastic ride, the only one in my Top 10 i'm lucky enough to ride on a regular basis.

I would like to ask How many rides have you taken on Maverick? If you have only ridden it once, you defiantly need to ride it a few more times before posting a thread like this. Millennium Force was my Number One coaster since it opened, but it took Maverick a few turns to take its spot for me. The wheel problem can be uncomfortable, but its not like that in every car. So far, the front of the ride seems to always be the smoothest ride most of the time.

I like Maverick because it combines everything I love into one... Inversions, Airtime, Unexpected Direction Changes, Launch, and a great first drop.
