While attending BooBuzz today at CP I made the dire mistake of walking into one of the gift shops to "look"

As soon as I walked in, there it was! A model of a Raptor train! I turned around to show it to my hubby and he simply said "go ahead"

Coasterdynamix has come out with a model of a Raptor train for $29.99. Looks awesome except there are only 7 rows and the support rails are baby blue. I told my hubby I will be buying acrylic paint and repainting the supports the right color.
Other than that, the model is freaking sweet and yet another Raptor goodie to add to my collection!
Going to have to get a 2nd one next week for my desk at work!

I sure wish they would come out with a whole ride model like the MF model!

It's all about getting around the barrels, or over the fences, right leads, no faults, fastest time and looking pretty when done. What's so hard about that?

I remember reading about this somewhere. I do believe they are going to be manufacturing, coasterdynamix sets of a few real rides. Raptor and I think Alpehgeist were in the works.

Here is a model someone made.

Try looking over at CoasterBuzz. they may have a running topic or more info on it.

The Alpengeist trains have been done for a little while now, as well as some Griffon trains I believe.
I think they are also making some floorless models as well.

Very nice, might just have to get it. That would make a fine addition to any home desk.

Uhhhhh, they're called "Statix" for a reason.

You're not going to get a whole working model for $30. In fact, the model kits start at $199, and while I don't personally own one, they are quality and work quite well.

Which gift shop was this?

October 22, 2007, 6:58P

The one right at the front of the park, next to Demon Drop, around the corner from the Smoking Area that I never knew was there until I saw someone mention it the other day, so I looked and there is, in fact, one next to that shop.

Probably Park Plaza near Demon Drop.

I saw them in the Dragster gift shop as well (I'm sure it has a name, "Speed Zone" or something).

I did paint the supports on my model green like they should be. Came out perfect--slipped model back into box and it is proudly displayed at my desk at work.

Was at park today and planned on purchasing a 2nd one for my CP shrine at home. Nope--not ONE to be found ANYWHERE!!! Raptorqueen and I tore up the park looking for one and they are all gone!

That'll teach me for not buying 2 last week when I was there! DOH!

I hear you Jo! I spent two hours yesterday walking around the park (twice) and stopping at every gift shop, looking for one of those models. I started to ask around a few of those shops and everyone said to go up front and ask at the Park Plaza shop, since it was closest to raptor. So I got up there, and asked around, but everyone working in there were all fund raiser/volunteers, and they all had no idea what I was talking about. Which makes me think they were sold out already. I was so bummed.

I hope Cedar Point will be like Dorney Park and will put them up for sale on their online market place, that way I don't have to wait until May for my next chance to get one.

^Are there always that many Ride Prides working at the park this time of year? I never really paid attention in the past.

I called the merch office early last week to place an order and they said they would fill it as soon as they could grab a model to fill the order. It still hasn't been filled so I'm guessing they are currently out of stock. They also told me they plan to put them up online in the near future.

A friend had to return his due to a missing shoulder restraint. The gift shop told him they are supposed to have more in this winter to be sold online.
