Today while I was searching for some songs played in the Maverick queue, I stumbled across an album that has a good majority of the songs (in the correct version) played in line. The album is called "The Greatest Western Themes" and is put on by "The Ghost Rider Orchestra".

There are a few songs played in line not included on this disc:
Theme from Rawhide - Frankie Laine
The Wild Wild West - Billy Strange
The Plaza of Execution (Instrumental) - James Horner
Pirates of the Caribbean Theme

There are a few others that I don't know the names of. Im gonna be listening to these songs day and night now when Im not at the Point. If anyone knows the names of any other songs, please tell!!

What does Pirates of the Caribbean have to do with "Western Themes"?

One of the songs you dont have listed (and is actually one of my favorites) is Mule Train. Although I dont know who it's by as there are many different artists. So far I cant find the correct version.

The album mentioned in the first post is available on iTunes for 9.99. It is indeed the correct version of ALOT of the songs.

I think I want to kill myself every time I hear that Mule Train song. It's so obnoxious with its loud and drawn out "MUUUUUUULLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLE TRAAAAAAAAAAAAAIIIIIINNN".

Where's my RAZR? Time to go slicey slicey across my wrists.

When I stood in Maverick's line for the first time and I heard the Pirates of the Caribbean song, I was wondering why Cedar Fair would want a song related to Disney to play at any of their parks.

Not something that I would have chose, even if it DID have something to do at all with anything western.

I'm surprised they're even allowed to play that song.

Usually copyrights allow you to show/play something as long as you don't charge someone to listen to it.

If anyone is looking for something cool to buy on iTunes, try the Pirates of the Caribbean soundtrack. It's very good, especially if you like big movie soundtracks.

Actually if you really want to leave this world you might want to try a north-south motion. Good luck with that.

I would try "The Magnificent Westerns" by the city of Prague Orchestra. It's also available on iTunes.

A couple other songs played in the queue are:

Theme from "The Magnificent Seven"
Them from "How the West Was Won"

The theme from "True Grit" is also played in line.

One question - why isn't the theme from "Blazing Saddles" played??

the pirates of the caribbean song is played because it sounds western. have you ever noticed the similarity's between pirate songs and western songs

June 20, 2007, 11:28A

I love the music played in line. I don't know the name of it, but I like the western whistling tune song and the "rollin rollin rollin" song. All this western music sure beats the radio songs I hear every single day all day long. They even play those overplayed songs in the midway, esp. over by Dragster! it drives me crazy!

June 20, 2007, 11:34A

Gads, my old fart-ism is showing. Having not been to CP yet, I can see they are playing a lot of old TV western theme songs. Do they play the theme from Bonanza?

Miss Maverick...the "rollin'rollin'rollin'" song is the theme from Rawhide.
