Alright this will be my first year working at Cedar Point. And I was just wondering where the best place to house is? I heard that Bayside is pretty good. but what are your opinions. And also since the dorms aren't coed is it ok to have a guy stay the night with you or is that totally against the rules?

Bayside is nice, if you like living with like 8-10 (I think) other people. You all have to coexist in one apartment and trust each other with your own stuff.

Commons is probably the best for first years just because there is always something to do and it seems that most people hang out there. But that's just my opinion.

You can have whomever you want to stay over in your room, unless they don't work at CP - in which case they have to be out by midnight. Unless they change things.

Best place depends on you situation.

-On point dorms are good for people that don't have a car since it's conveient and don't need A/C, fans work and you could get a dehumidifier or A/C. Commons dorms are A/Ced and heated. Commons apartments are full of people. Bayside are the nicest but the hardest to get into.

-Prices: Commons dorms up to $32.20, Apartments $24, onpoint dorms $16.80.

Apartments have more people so there is more noise, drama, roomates freinds, partys, and life in general in them.

As for spending the night, it doesn't really matter. The exception is non employees have to be out of there at a set time, I think it's Midnight.

Commons is the spot to be housing wise, that's where all the action is and plus it's walking distance to the bar so you don't have to worry about driving drunk back on point and getting a ticket or something like that......plus it's fun, there was never a dull day in commons

The fire drills suck though! 3 in the morning is kinda harsh when you gotta go to work at 8! But other than that, Commons is a blast to live at. Lived at Cedars, didn't like it much, it was a little old, and a little dirty. But it's the way to go if you wanna save money. i.e.-gas for car if you drive, and money spent on housing, and I tended to eat in the employee cafe more often when I was at Cedars then going out to eat. But that just might be me.

Nothing beats last year's fire alarms. In one night, we had three fire alarms roughly 2:30 AM, 4:00 AM, and 6:00 AM. It was the most horrendous day working after that, but you just get used to it. Nothing that college dorm-life doesn't prepare you for.

Yeah commons is the best place to live. Thats where i plan on liveing when i get there at the end of April. In a way it was kinda fun being woke up in the middle of the nite for a fire alarm. Ya just got used to it. Its just all part of the Cedar Point experience.

Definitly go for the commons dorms. They are small but they have AC and you will love that come july. The apartments are alright, you have about that same size room, but they have a kitchen/living room area and two bathrooms. In the dorms you will have 2 or 3 roomates, while in the apartments you'll have like 14 or so. Its more expensive to live in the dorms...i think it was 32 a week. but the AC is soo nice especailly when you come back from working in what feels like 100 degree heat.

Common's apartments have ac in them. The a/c is in the living room and the rooms aren't that bad in july.

i will never forget the night of the 3 firedrills, i had to be at work at 7 am that morning so needless to say i was just a tad bit miffed to be outside that early when i could've been getting just a few more minutes of precious sleep, i really hope they found that person b/c if my friends and i did, then he or she would've gotten a massive beat down....

I have lived in Cedars, Commons, Bayside over the years.If you are contracted all season commons dorm may be your best bet especially if you have a car. They close Cedars so early anymore that if you are there for Halloweekends you will have to move there anyway and moving is a pain in the butt.

Bayside fills up fast but far too many people for an apartment.

Cedars is great if you don't have a car. Don't pay attention to all of the horror stories as it isn't that bad. And it is very convienent and also nice if you like to spend a lot of time in the park. In 2002 I found Cedars alot quieter than it used to be which is very nice for us older folks. There is far less rowdiness than Commons.

Also a lot of times your roommate will move out and if it is late in the season you might get your room to yourself.

Commons Apartments are hell on earthand no way will I ever live there again.

I lived on point (Gold dorms), had one roomate and all was good. No fire drills during the night, no loud parties and no drama! You only sleep in your room so taking a box fan to put in the window works great during the night ( I was lucky, and stayed in rooms facing Breakers so you got the lake breeze). You are by laundry, cafeteria and by the time clock! BONUS! That gives you extra sleeping time. Plus you dont have to deal with causeway traffic to get to work on time.

If you happen to go to Louies and get drunk, maybe you can meet someone who lives off point to where you can crash at their apartment...

And if it doesnt work out with you living on-point, I have never heard that someone couldnt move off point.

So common apartments? I process in july 1st...as a first year...Ill b 18, and im serious a craaazy outgoing girl...good choice?

If you like peace and quiet, living on point is the way to go.

The commons apartments are indeed warm during the summer. The A/C is worthless in that it will blow the breakers when it is run on high... No oven as Cedar Point does not trust employees with baking a pizza...
